Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026.
Who we are
VoteTracker is operated by Paul Cote, based in Quebec, Canada, who is also the person responsible for the protection of personal information under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. For any question about this policy: via paulcote.net.
What we collect, and why
Language preference. This site sets one cookie, vt-locale, to remember whether you prefer French or English, for one year. It contains nothing beyond that preference and isn't used to track you.
Web fonts. Fonts (Oswald, Quicksand, Istok Web) are loaded directly from Google Fonts' own servers rather than hosted by us, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them — exposing your IP address to Google the same way any direct request to their servers does.
What we don't do
VoteTracker has no user accounts, no passwords, and no payment system. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools of any kind, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who receives your information
Requests to this site are received by our own hosting provider, in the normal course of serving a website (e.g. basic technical logs kept for operation and security). The only other party to receive a request from your browser is Google, for fonts, as noted above. We don't share your information with anyone else.
How long we keep it
The language cookie expires after one year, or whenever you clear it yourself in your browser. We don't retain any other data about you.
Your rights
Under Quebec law, you have the right to know what information we hold about you (in this case: just your language preference, if any) and to request its correction or deletion. Contact us via the link above.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above reflects the most recent revision.
